AFRICA FASHION WEEK LONDON

Image
AFRICA FASHION WEEK LONDON Africa Fashion Week turned London’s coolest of cool Truman Brewery in Brick Lane into a fashion ode to our continent last weekend. The shows celebrated London’s diverse African heritage through fashion interpreting various ethnic textile traditions into contemporary designs. Thula Sindi Proudly representing South Africa is Thula Sindi, who stuck to his familiar feminine styling. With florals, metallics and lace embellishment against ladylike pleats and sheer tulle, Sindi stays current but true to his signature style. There is also a continuation from his last collection at MBFWJ Autumn/Winter 2012/2013 with the use of finely pleated ribbon and structured hips. Tumisola Ladega This collection of beautiful monochromatic African prints showed thoughtful design detail and some of the best tailoring at African Fashion Week London. This is really impressive when you find out the designer is only 14 years old! Tumisola Ladega is a Nigerian-bo

Vuitton Celebrates Its Muses

From Kate To Sofia: Vuitton Celebrates Its Muses LOUIS VUITTON will celebrate six of its timeless muses with a new interactive exhibition opening in Tokyo this month. The showcase will pay homage to six women who "move frontiers" - namely Kate Moss, Sofia Coppola, Catherine Deneuve, novelist Françoise Sagan, architect Charlotte Perriand and, perhaps more unexpectedly, nineteenth-century French Empress consort Eugénie de Montijo. The display will be held in luxury hotel Tokyo Station for three weeks. Although little is known yet about what will go on show at the exhibition, visitors will be asked to wear masks with polarised lenses and white screen technology - WWD reports.

Kim Kardashian Makes First Post-Baby Appearance on Kris Jenner's Talk Show Lovely to see you, Kim Kardashian! On Friday, the new mom made her first post-baby public appearance on mom Kris Jenner's talk show. Kris, joined by cohost Sean "Diddy" Combs for the day, had no idea North West's mom was planning to surprise her on air. "Hi, Mom! I just wanted to say hi," Kim said, joining the duo via satellite. "I'm sorry I couldn't be there…I'm loving life a little bit too much right now!" And while she understandably has her hands pretty full these days, Kim would never miss mom's show. "I watch you every single day," she said. "You are so amazing. You really are born to do this. I just wanted to say I love you, and have an amazing show." Although Kris was too moved at the moment to chat, she did talk earlier in the show about how Kim's shedding those pregnancy pounds. Telling Diddy he was

Watch Delevingne giggle goofily as Pharrell smoothly compliments her on her "depth" and "spirit", then see the pair wrap their arms around one another, dance and pose as David Bailey snaps away. "David Bailey's faces and sounds - he makes some pretty wild faces," said Pharrell of working with the legendary photographer. "He's a genius, but that's his work isn't it?" See more behind-the-scenes action from the shoot in the September issue iPad app available later today from iTunes. The film is cut to Happy, a Pharrell song from the Despicable Me film soundtrack.
